Prof. Dr. Shafiq-Ur-Rehman

More than one-third countries in the present world are belonged to Muslim World. The world map has more than 55 Muslim countries. Some of these countries, like Pakistan, Mauritania, and Iran, are officially "Islamic Republics"; though Bangladesh is a "Peoples' Republic", Indonesia is simply a "Republic"; Saudi Arabia is a "Kingdom" and Qatar flatly the "State of Qatar". Some countries with predominately Muslim populations like Turkey or Iraq have had clearly or even aggressively secular governments and ideologies. However, they have several common socio-economic factors. Religious thoughts, history, geographical location, beliefs, family history, holidays’ calendar, system of wealth distribution through inheritance, economic welfare system through zakat, usher and charities, and the same thought on the fixed interest based monetary transactions are a few of their common attitudes.
